Everything is an object

In Rendevoz, the most important is: Everything is an object.

What does "Everything" mean?

  1. Files: PDFs, videos, web pages and more ( You can use or develop plugins to make every file become an object ).

  2. Labels: Labels can be objects as well, like a highlight or screenshot in PDF, a video clip, or a paragraph from the web page.

  3. Notes and Whiteboards: When reading or watching, it is so good if taking notes or organizing ideas on whiteboard can be done at the same time. Rendevoz allows you to achieve this easily. Even labels in note can be an object!

So, why I need object?

I know it is very painful to learn a new concept, and it's okay if you don't use "object" in your workflow. You can just use Rendevoz as a powerful PDF viewer, note taking tool, whiteboard tool or anything else.

But if you have such needs, you can have a try:

  1. I have tried some tools like backlink supported note taking tool to help remember things or create knowledge network, but they are too difficult to use. But I still need a tool to help me organize my ideas and thoughts.

  2. I like the atomic way of thinking, I want to categorize different knowledge, giving them name, description, and tags.

  3. Easy to use is important, I want to create objects and links in 1 second.

Talk is cheap, show me the tool.

Reading PDF, making label then drag it to whiteboard

What is happening in above gif?

  1. Create one PDF and one whiteboard, then split the view.

  2. Select text and make a label in PDF, then drag it into whiteboard.

  3. Click on the PDF label card in whiteboard, then jump back to its original position in PDF.

You can do all these steps in 10 seconds! Just drag & drop, no other complex operations, everything seems so natural in Rendevoz.

After these steps, you successfully created 3 objects. 1. PDF 2. Whiteboard 3. PDF label

You can view all objects you created in sidebar " object library " or database.

Sidebar object library

You can filter objects by their types, names and tags. And see their details in " Object Panel ".

Think it is over? No!

Objects are connected, see the graph.

After drag & drop, you created the " PDF label " object, and also two links!

If you want to see the graph, you can open global graph in sidebar or open partial graph from object.

Graph view of objects

See the above graph, there are 3 nodes and 2 links. This graph is generated automatically by your drag & drop.

So you don't need to search for objects, and connect them one by one. Rendevoz will handle everything for you.
